Hating on the Griswold family is basically un-American. The family has been making us laugh for decades, and has basically proven to the world that dysfunctional relations can have hilarious results. Now, it looks as though the franchise is going to get the reboot, with New Line developing a pseudo sequel to the 1983 classic. The film, which is tentatively set to be directed by David Dobkin, will focus on Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold, who is now a parent and goes on a family vacay. This leaves room for Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo to make cameos as grandparents, who are expected to appear in some way, shape or form. And the beauty of it all? National Lampoon isn’t attached, so you know they’ll be a little classier than when their name is branded across the movie poster.
