After all the hype and hoopla, after all the tweets and columns and gossip stories, the DJ AM reality show Gone Too Far didn’t get much of an audience - at all. The first episode of the eight-part MTV series, which aired Monday night, pulled in a disappointing 500,000 viewers, which is below par for the network that usually scores above the million mark for most shows. A spokesperson for MTV stated that they have no immediate plans to pull the show from the network, with plans to continue airing the show for the rest of its season. Perhaps the reason why people didn’t tune in is because no one likes to be scared or frightened by what the TV is preaching to them, especially in light of the circumstances surrounding DJ AM’s death. At least, we didn’t watch it - it’s too real.
