Before production even began on Beverly Hills Cop 4, they’re already starting over - and that’s never a good sign. MovieHole reported last week that Rosewood and Taggart (Judge Reinhold and John Ashton) would be back on board to appear in the film after Ashton’s character was written out of the third installment. But now, according to Collider, it looks as though that news was a bit premature. In addition to Rosewood and Taggart not appearing in the fourth installment of the franchise, the studio is hiring an entirely new writer to pen a script and are starting over on production. This means that the original script, written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, has been thrown under the bus by the studio, which follows reports that the script wasn’t all that good anyway. Sheesh, can’t they just get the ball rolling on this one? Too much drama for a film that’s not even close to getting filmed yet.
