For those of you that are up on your classic martial arts films, then you’ll have already heard of Shaolin Temple, which starred Jet Li as a young boy that gets adopted by Shaolin monks and trains to avenge his father’s death. So either you’ll love or hate the news that there’s a remake in the works, starring none other than Jackie Chan and Hong Kong actor Andy Lau. The $29 million remake, which also stars actor-singer Nicholas Tse and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, will focus on the 1,500-year old temple that’s famous for its fighting monks. But what makes this production ridiculously awesome is that there’s supposed to be 1,000 real fighting monks and a grand scene in which the temple burns down, which will be eye candy for those of you that can’t get enough of CGI. Shaolin, which will be directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Benny Chan, is expected to hit theaters next year.
