In what solidifies her as the next up-and-coming star, Precious star Gabourey Sidibe was honored with the New Hollywood Award at the 13th Annual Hollywood Awards at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. Presented with the award by Taraji P. Henson, Gabby gracefully accepted her speech, “winging it” as she took the podium without a prepared speech. In the above clip, you can watch her crack jokes (”I say ‘um’ a lot, but so does the President”) between her heartfelt thanks to the film’s team, including special thanks to Oprah Winfrey (”You have to listen to her, it’s a law”), director Lee Daniels (who changed the life of a “random girl from Harlem”) and the film’s various crew members.
