Not to long ago, the world learned that Battleship was being adapted for the big screen, and that the villain in the film would be aliens. Yes, aliens. Now, a few more details have emerged, now that director Peter Berg invited a handful of bloggers and journalists to visit the set, with the trip being documented on several sites. /Film packaged all the details into a nice post, so allow us to rehash. The aliens in the film will be called The Regents (a combination of CG creatures and real actors), who come to earth in peace to use the ocean as a power source. It’s there that they encounter the Navy team, where the main character in the flick will be Commanding Officer of a destroyer that also hosts five other main characters. They fight with ballistic-style weapons, and the aliens won’t shoot lasers or anything. Oh, and they’ll use catchphrases from the game like “You sunk my Battleship!” Sounds like this one’s going to be a winner.
