So much Avatar news. But just think: once the New Year comes, this will pretty much be wiped clean from social consciousness. But until then, here’s another Avatar post. Like with a few geeky sci-fi films, there is an actual language that was created for the Na’vi creatures in the film, which you can hear linguist Paul Frommer speak in the clip above. The language, which has a vocabulary of more than 1,000 words, was taught to actors by dialect coach Carla Meyer, who helped actors like Zoe Saldana (she speaks the language the most in the film) and Sam Worthington learn the language. Listen above to get a sneak taste of the dialect before you experience it in theaters this Friday.
