For those of you who got tired of your local bar’s Rock Band night for a lack of a decent catalog of songs to choose from, prepare to put back on your drinking cap. Taking it to their official Facebook page, Harmonix has announced that it’s developing Rock Band 3 for a worldwide release this holiday season. Though there’s no exact release date set in stone, the game, which will be published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts, is said to “innovate and revolutionize the music genre once again, just as Harmonix did with the original Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and The Beatles: Rock Band.” In the meantime, a Jimi Hendrix Rock Band is due later this year in addition to a Green Day edition. Yay for better theme nights at your local watering hole!

Above is the ex-Roc star’s new video for “Sponsor” featuring Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy, the second single off her forthcoming sophomore album At That Point. The Yolande Geralds-directed clip shows Mari posted up in a mansion while Gucci raps about keeping her decked out in diamonds (he, of course, doesn’t appear on the video, as he’s currently do a bid) before Mari takes over and flosses extra hard. How hard? She hops in a pricey whip, flaunts a black card with her name on it and gets treated to a spa day at her own home. To put it bluntly, Mari is living a lavish life that we frankly didn’t know she was capable of living. Shrug.

Disney seems pretty confident that their upcoming film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is going to be a hit. So much so, in fact, that they’re bringing it to the big, big screen. According to THR, the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced and Mike Newell-directed film will be released on IMAX screens on May 28th in conjunction with its normal theatrical run. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince of Persia, the Walt Disney Pictures film, based on the Ubisoft game, focuses on a street urchin in 6th century Persia that teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to prevent villain Nizam (Ben Kingsley) from abusing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods. Prepare to get blown away by this epic flick.

Bravo is on their reality game grind right now, and they ain’t gonna stop. Of a new block of programs in development, one in particular caught our eye, and it goes by the name of Hitmakers. Though songwriters and producers have come to the foreground in recent years, many of the hottest hitmakers have kept a relatively low profile, getting the credit and the royalty checks without receiving any of the shine. But all that’s about to change with the show, which is shaping up to be an elimination competition series where contestants are put through a series of songwriting challenges. At the end of each episode, the winner with the best song will have their track performed by a special guest singer. The show is being developed by producers Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Tim Bogart and Evan Bogart (member of the Writing Camp, a collective that wrote Beyonce’s “Halo” and Pussycat Dolls’ “Jai Ho”). Look out for this one when it hits the small screen some time this year.

But thanks to IGN, we’re getting to see even more of the film before it hits theaters next Friday. Though this red band clip comes at the end of this long, hilarious interview, it shows that this movie is more about jokes than plot, which is wonderful considering that the plot seems to be whipped up by a bunch of third graders. And in case you didn’t already know, te film stars John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, Lizzy Caplan, Crispin Glover, Sebastian Stan, Charlie McDermott and Chevy Chase in a story that focuses on four friends who wake up in 1986 after a night of heavy drinking and partying. This gives them the opportunity to make all the wrongs of their lives right before they even happen. Look out for this one when it his next week.

We’ve been patiently waiting for the trailer to hit the net for the upcoming Queen Latifah and Common film Just Wright, and our patience has paid off. Above is the trailer that just hit the net, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect in the film before it hits theaters May 14th. The Sanaa Hamri-directed film, which stars Paula Patton, Phylicia Rashad, Pam Grier, James Pickens Jr, Mehcad Brooks, Michael Landes, Dwyane Wade, Dwight Howard and Bobby Simmons, focuses on a sports trainer (Latifah) who takes on a difficult case in getting a Nets player (Common) back on his feet. Only problem? She falls in love with him, which soon becomes an issue when her best friend (Patton) goes after him, too. Who knew that Common had this much acting ability? Stay tuned for more on this one before it hits theaters this Spring.

This is pretty interesting. When Cleveland Brown left Family Guy for his own show, creator Seth MacFarlane had a tentative replacement in mind that would have rocked the toon’s foundation. According to THR’s Live Feed, MacFarlane wanted to replace him with Mr. T, though the A-Team star wouldn’t participate because he’s a born-again Christian whose morals don’t line up with the show’s edgy humor. “It would be like Mr. T was in the show as Mr. T, and he’s just the fourth guy in the group,” said MacFarlane. “Animation is one of the few remaining television genres where you can really touch on politics. [...] A live-action sitcom can’t really go there.” We’re actually kind of sad this didn’t happen - but clearly, the only fool to pity here is Mr. T.

Admit it, you’ve been missing Ed Gordon’s face on BET. So it’ll please you to know that he’s about to invade your TV screen once again. After hosting BET Tonight with Ed Gordon for years (before it was unceremoniously canceled eight years ago), Gordon is returning to the network, according to a report from Variety. Gordon will rejoin the news division where he will contribute specials and programs to the channel. “As BET celebrates its 30th anniversary, it brings me great joy to welcome back one of America’s most prominent news personalities,” said network chairman and CEO Debra Lee. No word on when he’ll actually return to the small screen, but it’s a good enough reason to pop that champagne.

The world has been waiting on Big Boi’s solo album Sir Lucious Leftfoot the Son of Chico Dusty for more than a year now, and finally, it gets a video ahead of its March 23rd release date. The Outkast emcee teams up with Too $hort and funk master George Clinton for the Zach Wolfe- and Dirty Dr.DAX-directed clip for “Fo Yo Sorrows.” The clip is extra funkay - so funkay, in fact, that an extra “a” had to be added to the word to convey just how thwacking and out there it truly is. We would have much rather have had a video for “Shine Blockas” featuring Gucci Mane, but baby steps are needed here considering that we’ve waited more than five years for another solo album from Big Boi (here’s lookin’ at you, Speakerboxxx).
